Hey guys

Anyone see this?

http://www.roadstersound.com/product...ini_cooper.htm

It's an amp rack/sub enclosure / false floor all in one. Pricing looks decent ($250/300 I think) and the owner said it would be going into prod in 6-8 weeks. What do you think? I think the production one calls for a 10" sealed enclosure (though the pic looks ported), my guess is that a woofer that's good with small box volumes will be necessary.

I don't get it? Where does it fit in the boot? Side mount? Floor?

I'm very interested.

It's your new boot floor. I have no affiliation, just found them deep in a google search. They seem to have the bmw z3 guys happy.

Also, I'd hope for a braced lid/stronger boot floor, I could see my 3 weekly cases of pabst blue ribbon crushing that (just kidding, it's only 2!)

I'd love a way to have a compartment underneath the box that's easy to get to in order to hide my uhhhhhhhh... clothes!

Is Pabst Blue Ribbon still sold?!?!? I haven't seen that on a shelf out here in years.

There was a great country song: "There's no place that I'd rather be than here, with my red neck, my white socks and my Blue Ribbon beer."

Oh yea, and that subwoofer amp thingie looks pretty good!

That is exactly what I had in mind, however it would be much easier and probably cheaper for me to order it.

Heh, yeah, still for sale. I'm actually a beer snob, I was just trying to look like a tough guy I think you can still get a case for like $4.00!

btw if the one in the pix is the one for the MINI .. then it would be used as a rear delete kit. The shape shown is that of the seats folded down. and not the back where the battery sits. But if its not.. just a simple change of the top board would be all thats needed.

I don't think that's ported, probably sealed. I'm thinking that hole you see is where the speaker terminal block goes. Something that small and ported would sound horrible...

Just heard back, enclosure is about 15 lbs They are getting in the prototype tomorrow for fitting, thinks mid march is still doable.

I am definitely interested in that. It's too bad they didn't make it so that it could fit a 12 because one of the new JL Audio TW5 Thin subs would be a perfect fit and would sound fantastic.

I'd be satisfied with a single 10" if there's enough depth to fit a JL Audio 10W7 in this enclosure.

Not a chance, and even if you do, there is not enough air in the box to get a good sound.

I looked at the JL website and they recommend 1.25 cubic feet of space for the box. That enclosure posted above may have it, but it certaintly doesn't have the 8" depth that the 10w7 needs.

Ack - yep, I just now clicked on the link in the first post to actually look at the box specs. Only 0.625 cubic feet and 4-3/8" mounting depth. Not even close on either count.

Oh well...

Rockford does have a thin-line 10 that would definitely fit:

I'm just not a big fan of rockford. With any luck JL will make a thinline 10 to fit. The W1s just aren't enough power for my taste.
