Ice link plus causing problems

So we were out for the After Thanksgiving Sale and my Mini started acting up. The turn signals would not turn on till after you started turning the wheel and then they would stay blinking after the wheel was straight and the turn level was back to neutral. Also the seatbelt light was on and the airbag light. After getting home I undid the battery to try to get a reset, did not work. Then I unhooked the battery and unpluged the Icelink plus, put power back on and everything was perfect. So then I unhooked the battery hooked the Icelink back up and reconnected the battery and everything was heywire. So I now have the icelink wafer on the kitchen table and have been searching NAM and MINI2 for answers and Haven't found one. Does anyone have Ideas?

I talked with Tom at EAS about this after my ordeal which you can see in this LINK. I guess the Ice>Link Plus brains can go bad and cause all sorts of bad things to happen. I dumped the old module, kept the connector wires and ordered a Dice module for $99. It is working well now.
Don't take it to your dealer though since they will blame your Ice and try to make you pay for any work. The only thing that saved me was my airbag/seat belt lights were acting funny before I put my Ice>Link in.
I have the artist and album now displayed on the H/U and great sound.

This is correct - when the ice>Link Plus module fails, it can give erratic signals that other ibus devices can pick up. It is recommended to remove the module and move to the DICE, we have a upgrade plan just for existing ice>Link Plus users.

I had this same problem a while back. I went through two ice link+ modules and they both did the same thing. I took it to the MINI dealer because I did not know what was wrong and it kept doing weirder things. All my interior dash lights would go out, my air bag and seat belt warning lights would come on, and my brake lights even stayed on when the car was turned off. The dealer said it was the ice-link and wanted to charge me $500 to install the MINI iPod adapter and for diagnostics. I eventually got it down to $300 for the MINI iPod installation because I had prior records of bringing it in for this specific problem and them telling me everything was fine. I was still out 3 bills though.I think a tech said they just had to swap a wire or something because the ice-link was grounding the iBus. I ended up returning the ice-link and have been happy with the MINI adapter. I do miss the tags displayed on the head unit though.
