Ground Loop Isolator question

Hi all!

My Aux plug is having the same problem as others. I just vanishes at times from my head unit. So I searched the forum and the solution seems to be a ground loop isolator. But i know nothing about this things. I get what I need to buy, but I'm not sure where I install it (or in this case, convince a friend to do it for dinner).

Any help would be great.

Thanks!

beth

It goes between your player and the aux input jack. Plug your player into the ground loop isolator, and the other end of the ground loop isolator plugs into the aux input. The trouble is, the aux input and most players use 1/8" stereo mini plugs, and the ground loop isolator may be fitted with a different size/style of plug. The one from Radio Shack includes one plug adapter and you have to purchase a second adapter for the other end. There is a ground loop isolator from Crutchfield that makes for a cleaner connection.

Thanks! (saved me the cost of beer and pizza too). Cruchfield was out, but eBay had them.

Cheers
