I had a new factory HU installed because my original one was skipping real bad. I love the fact that I can now play MP3's on it, but the dealership neglected to give me a new manual for it. I have asked several times for one, but the SA hasn't come thru with one yet.

My hope is that someone here can scan or send me a manual for it. This HU has on the far right side the RDS setting but it now has an INF function. I also have a little asterisk (*) flashing next to the INF display. It also doesn't have an ST display for when the radio is receiving, it instead displays TP.

Anyone able to help me out?

Nope.....no HK Just the standard new factory unit.

That's interesting. I put a 2006 unit in my '04 and I have PTY in that spot - no INF*
I do have the HK, maybe there's a difference??
Does anything happen when you press the button below the INF*?

 

It asks me the option of news and traffic yes or no. It also displays a TP instead of ST when in an area that transmits the enhanced FM signals.

 

Almost sounds like Euro mode, but that's not if if you get regular FM signals. I guess the newest HUs have something extra (mine was built Jan 06.)

 

Well I finally got it figured out, thanks to cooperphile over at Cooperspeed.com The radios come with the capability of being used in 4 different country/regions. Mine was set up for the UK region. Just had to change it to the US setting and all is well now.
