Another LCD/PS2 Install

ok, finally got the car back today.

took me 5 hours of non stop work, but i got it all done. NO SPLICING FACTORY WIRES!!! all power from the battery, all removeable. I think i'm gonna move the screen a bit deeper under the denter, it sticks out a bit too much for my taste...... whatcha think?

Looking good, but you ran across the same issue i did. I had my screen in the same place but it didn't like the fact that it stuck out so far, and also lost my cup holders (don't use them for coffee, but my cell fits perfectly in it). So i sank my one back to make it look more tidy, and to get the cell phone holder back.

It was easy to do, just had to remove the cigarette lighter and lossen the two dash uprights. It's a 7" screen that i have in there, looks about the same size you are using.

Take a look https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...achmentid=6890

It's not 100% visible when you are in the driving possition, but obviously you don't want to be watching dvd's or playing games when you are driving. But when you put the seat back and relax, you can see everything just fine.

I think I saw a post from someother board that someone is using the 05 cup holder as a support and mount the screen on it. Look really nice and you can flip it to the passenger side when you want access to the head unit.
I think the viewing location is lots better than next to the shift boot.

I didnt want to go that deep, i think i'm just going to go slightly past flush with the uprights. just going a bit deeper wil also take care of the prblem seeing the cable running out the back. for some reason, alpine made it so you have to use the 90 degree plug for the screen and it looks wierd with the plug wire coming out the side of the screen where you can see it.
