Navigation & Audio iPod hook-up for $340!
iPod hook-up for $340!
I finally decided to get my dealer (MotorCity MINI) to hook my iPod up to the car's existing stereo system. The quoted price was $340! More than double the advertised price of $150. Am I being taken for a ride or has anyone else paid this price??
try and do it yourself. I did not feel it was right to pay almost the cost of an Ipod to get an Ipod to work in my car. The install is not complicated and motoringfile has the directions. the hardest part is pulling the correct wires out of the harness.

I have an '03 S. What is involved in the Blitzsafe install. Is it only a plug in the boot? And what does it cost and does it work if you have the aux adapter installed? And can you get it without the entire XN Direct package?
Thanks,
Rich

The $40 auxiliary input jack is by far the best deal, and it's not a hard DIY install. The prices for other solutions still seems to be going up, not down. $340 is more than a 20 gig iPod.
That's just insane.

We are new vendors on NAM. Just wanted to let the community know we offer an interface that allows you to control, charge, and play your iPod through you Mini's audio head unit.

I noticed a few postings about IceLink. Our cable does the exact same thing however, IceLink's cable goes for 200 at Best Buy and 220 on some other online sites. Our cable is 129.95 (that includes shipping). Feel free to call or email us if you have any questions.

I had this sticker shock as well. I would have guessed an hour or so of labor... MAX. They wanted $350 or so total. I can't believe that it would take 2 hours to do the install (for a dealership that has done them before).
I told them just to order the part for me and I'd do it myself.
