HK Random Feature?

Hey NAM,

Quick question about the HK Random feature. How do you scan to the next random song? I tried a few things but nothing worked, whenever I hit the scan button it just goes to the next song sequentially. (ex. - on song 6 by random - hit the > button -> goes to song 7)

How do you have the random feature skip to the next random song? Other than turning RND off and then on again

Thanks!
-Nick

Doesn't work on the OEM non-HK headunit either. Goes to the next song in numerical sequence, not next random song.

For me, when using my iPod (with the iPod adapter) or an MP3 CD. I turn on RND, then when I hit the next track button on the steering wheel or the HU, the song number goes up from 01-02-03-04, but the songs are in random order.

So let me get this straight. When you have the radio on Random and you hit the next button, the track numbers go from 1-2-3-4-5-6... but the songs being played are NOT those track numbers? They are random?

Yes.

For instance 100 songs, turn on Random, skip up a few, 02-03-04, turn Random off, step up one more jumps to 75 (or whatever track number is after the current random song.

The only way I've seen "random" work with Mp3's is if you let it run 'till the end of the song...then it will choose the next randomly

Casepoint -> What happens if I don't like the song .

I will have to test this out, the whole counting up by one but really choosing randomly .

Mini's have always amazed me and they still do!

Tested it out some more. Still doesn't work though. When I have the radio on random and I click the |< or >| buttons it will just go to the next sequencial track in order. If the song is 45 and I hit the >| button it goes to 46, then 47, then 48...etc.

If I click the M button and click >| it just fast forwards a little.

Any one have any new ideas on how to get the next RANDOM song while the radio is in the random mode?

Thanks!

You don't have the 'radio' in random. Are you in iPOD, CD or CD Changer mode?
