Digital Power Sound Module now available?

I was on mini.ca today, looking at the accessories. I noticed that the MINI SoundModul was available for sale on there. this is the same as the "digital power sound module" (or DPSM) that was mentioned on mini2 before. I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten this? Is it worth the money (the parts are listed at $1000 canadian, no idea about installation)? I like the stock stereo, but wouldn't mind a little something more, while keeping the stock look.

Thanks!

Here are a couple of links to Motoringfile.com articles that talk about the Digital POWER SoundModule (DPSM) system (including some download links to the official release/install documents to show you what's involved, give you some pictures and part numbers):

http://www.motoringfile.com/2004/10/..._up_the_volume

http://motoringfile.com/files/DPSM.pdf

http://motoringfile.com/files/DPSM_install.pdf

BTW, how much is a $1,000 CAN in USD?

For those that don't know... The Digital POWER SoundModule (DPSM) system is an official upgrade to the standard MINI stereo system (non-HK only) that will take it to a staggering 660 Watts of power (more than twice the power of the HK system)! I've been told (by someone who has it) that the system doesn't sound quite as good as the HK system, but it has a lot more volume to it.

$1000 canadian is about $810 USD. I've read over both of those motoringfile posts, but it just seems to be a bickering match about the HK upgrade.

I don't know that the DPSM is supposed to compete with the H-K; I think it is supposed to be an option for people (like me) whose cars came with the basic audio system. I'd still like to hear it to make up my own mind. I wonder if Canadian MINI dealers would ship to the US...

I finally went out and looked at the MINI of Canada site. The website shows the SoundModul, part number 82-83-0-140-180. It is not the same thing as the Digital POWER SoundModule, which is part number 82-83-0-392-529.
