Another AUX installation question

2006 R53 with HK Sound System

I just plugged an AUX cord I sourced into port on the back of the radio. The AUX option came up on the Mode. However, no music is coming out of the speakers from my Android phone. I can hear slight feedback out of the speakers if I remove/reinsert the plug in/out of the phone. I have tried two different AUX cables and they both behave the same. Music is playing on the earbuds from the phone so I know it is there...

Thoughts?

Bad radio??

TIA with any feeback.

There should be an adjustment for the aux volume/gain by pressing the music note button on th radio. If it’s set to zero try raising it to see if you get any sound. I usually have the phone volume around 75-80% when setting the level. Also, you might have to check the phone volume every time if you use the earbuds between connections to the radio.

Ideally a fixed line level output is used instead of a variable output like the headphone jack, and the aux gain would be set to match the other source volumes so you don’t get any surprises when switching between sources.
