Add Bluetooth Audio Streaming to Harmon Kardon w/ Aux Input for Less Than $20

So I was looking for a way to add bluetooth audio streaming to my new Mini. It's an 06 with the factory Harmon Kardon package. A new headunit was scratched because I didn't feel like bypassing amps and I didn't want to use that european converter because of constant low level buzzing. So I poked around online and decided I would wire up this and plug it into the Aux Input. Works perfectly! (although while testing, reversing the polarity resulted in constant speaker buzz, wired correctly it is silent) I couldn't be more pleased!

Bluetooth 12v 3.5mm

I wired it to the cigarette lighter and bumped up the fuse a few amps. I adhesive taped it to the underside of the plastic base for the down tubes.

Pros:

1. Cheap
2. Good sound quality
3. Compatible with Harmon Kardon
4. Stealthy, doesn't scream break my window to steal my radio.

Cons:

1. Radio only displays "AUX"; so forget about it showing artist info on the display.
2. It is not a coded bluetooth, so theoretically someone next to you in traffic could connect.
3. No hands free calling, although you may be able to use speaker phone, haven't tried it.
4. Requires the optional Aux input already be installed.

Hope this helps somebody, keep motorin'!

Likely not. If it uses the Aux-in, it's just receiving a signal from the source, it doesn't control it in any way.
I got a cheap version from ebay.
