The trim around the controller and shifter pops right off and you will see screws holding down the controller. Unscrew, disconnect, remove old controller and put the touch idrive in and screw down. It’s a very simple process.

F60 for me but probably due to the software, since I got this done when the 2019 F56 I step level was probably not there yet.

Yea, I'm realising that a lot of F56 owners that did the swap have incorrect animations and no manual, so far I only know of two people that had that rectified through coding (sb2002 being one of them).

@minicooperjp Did you ever get the 8.8" touchscreen sold?

No, you’re on your own with aftermarket unless you wired directly into the stock controller.

I have a 6.5" screen and i am able to get Wireless CarPlay via the "JoyeAuto NBT Evo BMW Interface Kit" connected in a Plug & Play with my 2018 MINI Cooper CountryMan F60.

I purchased the kit from aliexpress website.
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/3305...45524c4dJKktFm

Hope the info helps. The touchscreen on the Car play & Interface kit however does not work.

I used an "aux-USB adapter" to connect the Interface kit> to plug back into the main USB port on the dash >to output sound.

No coding needed if you just want to use the joystick and the radio/menu/option buttons. It will need coding if you want to use touch/writing and you will need to get the touchbox/TBX module.

Not my cup of tea but it’s great you got something to work to your satisfaction. Are hands free calls all thru the car mic/speakers? That audio thru aux sucks.

The Kit has its own separate mic that you can install hidden on the upper A pillar, drivers side.
The calls are hands free & the steering wheel controls work to navigate the interface.
Sound output is through the car speakers.Apple will not allow you to use the phone while on the CarPlay.
The touchscreen does not work on the interface, and u will have to use the idrive controller or steering wheel controls to surf through the kit menu.

The kit is supposed to work with both aftermarket/oem camera but on my Kit the dip switch to enable this feature, was buggy and hence i have it on the aftermarket camera.
I also have a Raydeen BSS2LPB Blind Spot Detection system installed under the license plate and the built in camera on this module was hooked to my kit and it is as good as original with the parking sensors and all that!.

The Kit allows you to switch between the OEM & its interface with the simple long press of the back button..
You will not ordinarily notice the Aux adapter as it is lower down in the well.
Once the car is set up for Apple Car connection with the mobile phone,it will auto switch to the kit interface automatic without any intervention.

When the Apple Car Play is active, i was not able to use the camera app on my phone for some strange reason but otherwise all else is normal.I understand that for the OEM MINI Wireless Carplay U have to pay an approx 90 US$/year.

I put the MINI decal sticker on the dial!.

I was able to do this little project.
#1-The trim around the cup holders to pull out carefully.
#2-The trim around the gear shifter to pull out carefully.
#3-The plastic assembly to be pullled upwards from the storage area.
The entire thing is held by strong clips.
#4-Two Allan chain screws to remove & the other end of the controller is held in a clip to pop out.
#5-Check your new controller by plug & play.Replace your old one with the new!.
This JCW controller gave me a 4 way joystick controller to help use on google maps & navigate better on interface on apple car play!.
