I'm interested too, though I'll have an eye open for whatever Blitsafe may offer.

There is no difference between a blitsafe adaptor for HK head unit and non-HK head unit. Blitzsafe makes a single unit for XM for the MINI.

No offense VFR but I'd feel more comfortable getting in on a group buy with someone who's posted here more often. I'm sure you'd be leery of someone who comes in here posting any kind of buy on their first post.

Well if anyone feels uncomfortable then I wish someone else would take over.I have no motivatoin other then to get the xm for my car,I'am a bike guy who owens a mini.So if someone that is a big mini guy or gal calls 1-877-888-2225 ask for Ron about the xm.I hate posting on car forums as people tend to be a bit harsh for my liking.Just like the idea of xm at a decent price.

could be the online reseller trying to scoop up business with a 'group buy'

Seems odd that a 1st time poster should choose to find NAM, then get an ID, then post on the Audio section with an XM group buy.....

IMHO

Agreed, Ok I do believe in the 3rd shooter theory a'la JFK!

So I am inclined to think Blitzsafe is attempting to find a price that WE here at NAM are willing to pay by posting threads like this one. Give me a friggin break the BS (Blitzsafe or Bull *****) product can be had for as little as 55.95 on ebay by a seller who has told me he has "tons of them" (wrong interface), I also think this seller is associated with B.S.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

You see if the retailers find out BS is selling thier product to the public for near wholesale prices they would drop BS like a lead nickle. However BS is in it for the $$$ so like other distributers before them they go around pretending to be "NEW MEMBERS" offering deals or low ball prices therefore avoiding the wrath of thier retailers for undermining the market price to make a quick buck.

This is no deal at $209.00 heck the $9.00 is the free shipping. the 50.00 is the receiver, and the $150.00 is the cost of a $50.00 product that seems to have found a nitch here at NAM. BS walks away with 100.00 more than they would make if it were sold to a wholesaler.

Again this seller may have nothing to do with BS, but it is funny that they hid thier "items sold" as a private seller when you view thier feedback.

Honestly I would be more inclined to forgive former Pres. Clinton if he said "Doggone it I had sex with that fatty, I loved it, and it was none of your business!" The same as I would be more inclined to do business with a company who just comes out and says "Here is the deal, we will do a group buy but you MUST go through one of my resellers whom we are gonna give a wholesale price break to so that they may pass on the savings to you."

Thats how business works!

However I fear BS could care less about thier wholesellers and will steal business from those who keep them in business. Why would Corp XM care what price BS sales for? They get the monthly fee not BS. Heck if Corp XM could they would give the product out freely to entice more subscriptions like Direct TV and Dish Network. When was the last time any one paid for the hardware with those two? They know the $$ is in the monthly premiums not the equipment.

Then again i could be wrong and BS is working with NAM as we speak for a killer deal that will make me eat my words. (fingers crossed) But I doubt it!

OK Enough negative stuff here at NAM its suppose to be a happy "Lets go Motoring kinda place "

This is my first post on here, and I don't work for BS...but I'm picking up my MCS (Pure Silver) tomorrow AM, and I've been following the other XM thread for the past couple of days.

I'd like to get in on a group buy for the XM kit, for a FAIR price. To alleviate any fears of fake group buys, maybe a NAM veteran can try to work out a deal to get the kit (at the original price paid by the guy that started the other thread) if we by 10 or more units. What do they have to lose, it was the same price that they were selling it for 2 weeks ago?

I think this would be a fair solution, and if they don't accept it, I plan on getting the Icelink/ipod solution instead.

Before launching any type of group buy here on the site make sure that you review the Marketplace Guidelines to insure that all the requirements are being met.

Thanks!

OK, I've emailed Ira, the CEO of BlitzSafe, and asked about the group buy for NAM mambers.

I've also PM'd our NAM owner to ask if he's been appoached as yet by BlitzSafe.

Let's see if we can get a deal sorted for members, that follows the NAM guidelines and benefits everyone here.

NOTE: THE EBAY LINK MENTIONED IN THIS THREAD IS NOT THE RIGHT INTERFACE FOR XM-DIRECT - DO NOT ORDER IT IF YOU WANT TO CONTROL YOUR XM DIRECT FROM THE MINI CONTROLS

I'll let you know what I hear.

Chris.

Oooops I guess I pis-sed red off too bad, I hope he enjoys his new Mini. I just don't understand why he got PO'edand now he isn't comming back. Unless of course my assumption was correct!

As I stated I am a bit paranoid and delusional when it comes to conspiracy theories. Whith that said he really had no reason to take it to heart.

My rational is this I called BS and spoke to Armond about purchasing the adpt he said "no problem that will be 130.00, but I need to know what XM tuner/receiver you have", I said ill call you back I need to shop for a tuner. He was very polite I thought great nice people. He did ask if I was affiliated with any forums and I admit I lied and said no. I had a feeling if I said yes the sale would be off. They(BS) seem just as paranoid as I but that is because they are under selling their wholesellers.

We hung up I found my tuner called to confirm compatablity, then I screwed up. I got greedy and said hey I checked the forum, since Armond had mentioned it the day before (as any smart consumer would do) and then I asked "is this the best price you can do?"

" I checked the forum and it seems you are selling them cheaper their" then I heard some whispering and Armond poltly said he would transfer me to sales and I was disconnected. I called back but this time after mentioning NAM I was told the adpt is not for sale. And I would need to check with "myradiostore.com",the sales mgr got on the phone we chatted briefly and he said he was working out a group buy with NAM as we speak and the details should be sorted out by this past Monday. He also said he would post a thread or banner here at NAM and then something funny happened, he was thinking to himself "OUT LOUAD" he said " I guess I will need a new screen name before I post anything"

I thought this very odd why do you need a "NEW SCREEN NAME" unless you are posting annonymously and acting like a Mini owner. Then I thought about the grassy knoll, the third shooter theory, and came to the conclusion that BlitzSafe is BS.

Then this thread pops up and I think to myself what's to keep BS from starting a thread like this one and once again screwing their wholesale/retail market. All the while pretending to be a conserned XM lusting Mini owner while attempting to set a higher price and trick us into thinking WoW I got a deal.

Then RED chimes in, and gets POled when I call him on the carpet. Red if you are a soon to be Mini Owner welcome to our forum. You just had bad timing, really bad timing.

One last detail I forgot to mention about my conversation with BS they said in order to qualify for the group buy you will have to have been a NAM member for 6 months, to keep the "hop on the forum for a good deal types from ripping them off" so RED if you are still out there you still wouldn't qualify.

I hope this hasn't been to negative a posting but I would rather be imformed than polite.

"Now lets go get another $321.oo speeding ticket."

Strange...

NAM has not been approached by BlitzSafe as yet..

Chris,
I haven't heard anything from them. Do you have a contact there that I could email?

They appear to have promised this to individuals who have called Blitzsafe, but as yet I've not seen anything 'official'.

He's missing an opportunity, there's a ton of interest if they can stop being silly about restricting sales to kits and overpricing the solution.

I have no afilliation with XM, Blitzsafe, Radios and More or the original poster. However, quite some time ago I bought the XM direct adpater from Radios and More for $289.00 and at the time, that was the best price out there. They are legit as far as them offering the entire kit that allows the XM to be fully functional just as if it were the MINI Sirius module. All you need to do is order the kit from them and install it, no buying this part here and the other part there, it is turn key.

AFAIK, Radios and More was actually the first dealer to sell the XM Direct anywhere in the country when it first came out and I actually got them in a little bit of trouble with Blitzsafe by writing over at www.xmfan.com something they said about the availablity of the parts before they were actually suposed to tell people they were coming.

In my opinion, $209 is a good price for something that lists at $299 and was selling for $289 8 months ago. The OP might or might not be a scammer, I have no idea, but you can't possibly hope to get the whole kit and caboodle too much cheaper than this.

Before you accuse me feel free to check under the name Lee L or LeeL (some forum SW like NAM will not take spaces in usernames)at xmfan, www.xm411.com, hometheaterforum.com, avsforum.com, tivocommunity.com etc Heck, I have even posted over at Blitzsafe's own forums, using the same name I use all over the place.

$209.00 is a good price if you only consider that the kit is going for $299.00 right now. HOWEVER, when you consider that you could have got everything for $150.00, TWO weeks ago the deal does not sound so good.

The price was raised by Blitzsafe in response to the public posting of how a smart shopper was able to find the necessary components from different sources and put together the My Radio Store package for half the price.

Blitzsafe had this shopper take down a scan of their invoice that was listed on NAM, because it could be used as proof that they were competing with their OWN retailers and distributors. This probably violates several agreements that they have with these distributors or retailers, or at the very least, is a bad business practice.

Most likely, this was a simple mistake made by a salesperson at BlitzSafe, but the cat is out of the bag now. The only correct thing to do is to offer these kits to the NAM community for a limited time on a group-buy basis, at the price that was originally paid for by our smart shopping NAM member.

This good faith act will allow a few interested parties (NAM members that know of this deal) to purchase and install these units in their own vehicles (not for resale). BlitzSafe would be acting in good faith by allowing this group buy, and will stave off any future negativity towards their products or their company. In fact, it would promote a positive message about their company, products and way of doing business.

Should BlitzSafe not offer a group buy for a limited time, or a similar type of program, those folks that would have participated in this program, are very unlikely to purchase any sort of BlitzSafe product in the future, and would most likely discourage others from purchasing their products as well. It’s good to mention here, that most vehicle owners have more than one car, I have four cars, and depending on the quality of the product, what’s good for one can be good for all.

The smart choice would be to let a few purchase for less, allowing for their market share to grow exponentially by satisfying a few early customers.

Don't kill me as I am new to this forum also. I have owned my Chili Red MCS since March '03 .I had never considered XM radio until a buddy of mine had it in his car (BMW) I am a GI and have been deployed for several months (no access to the web) so I had no idea that this is such a mess. I just want to buy XM Direct+Interface at a fair price and $300 is not a fair price. If there is a group buy I would be enterested and if not, I can wait it out as I have become a very patient man over the last couple of years. Good luck to all in your quest.
