Another speaker depth question

I have searched and searched and can't seem to find anything that exactly answers my question. I am considering the Polk MM6 components for the front speakers. The mounting depth is 2.8125" or 71.5mm. I'm told the factory max depth is only 1.75". This will require a spacer that is I guess about 1". I want to keep the factory speaker grills. Will this speaker fit using a spacer and still be able to keep the factory grills?

Thanks, Sorry for the repeat post.

Yes they will fit behind the stock speaker grill. The stock speaker sticks out more than 1 inch, so a 1 inch spacer will be no problem:

Not sure I understand the question.

The picture above is of the OEM stock speaker. The flat part in my fingers and on the right side is the flange that gets screwed to the door. The tall cylindrical part above the flange is 1.25" and extends into the back of the door card, behind the speaker grill. So a spacer of 1" behind a new speaker should be no problem at all.

We shall see. I went ahead and placed the order. The magnets are huge. I figure I can turn around and sell them on E-Bay if they don't work out.
