I am planning on purchasing Polk's new DB6500 component speakers for the front. Most online store list the speakers at $199.99 and Polk's website suggests 239.99. I found a link to a store that sells the speakers for 124.99 http://store.thestereohouse.com/db6500-.html. What do you guys think? Is the site legitimate?

Do let me know. It sure is a great deal. Lets hope it's not refurbished goods. Once I hear your story on it I'll order it right away.

Odd... I checked the site when I got home and the price was up to 138.99 for the pair. I guess I got lucky and got my order in at the 124.99 price. To keep the price low I shipped them standard UPS ground shipping (4 days I thnk). I was checking to see if I could find anything that mentioned refurbished. I could find nothing. It's a bit of a gamble, they do not have the best return policy. I will let you know in four days.

I just checked and the price was still at $124.99. Let us know how it goes.
Thanks

I sent an e-mail and got a response back within an hour. The order was canceled.

I guess it was too good to be true.

Don't know if it is still is effect, but at Crutchfield if you buy one pair of Polk speakers, you can get a 2nd pair at 1/2 off. They include the wiring harnesses and adapters at no additional cost as well. I used the 6500s up front, and a set of the Polk 6x9s to replace the rear - very happy with the sound.

I sent them an e-mail and was told they might have some in stock in 2 weeks. I found a set of Polk Momo MM6's on E-Bay for $185 and went ahead and ordered a set. They shipped them right away.

The next task is too make them fit...

I thought that I should add that none of the dealers discussed are authorized Polk dealers. As a result no factory warranty exists. Thus the cheap prices. From looking on the web the MM6's seemed to be pretty good speakers but I do see reports of the crossovers burning out. I only plan on putting about 75 watts into them so hopefully they will be okay.

 Just FYI
