My previous FR-S had volume level but my MINI has three sun visors and the FR-S didn't. The more cars you own the more you will learn that every different make of car has their individual quirks.

Sorry for the dumb question, but what do you mean by "volume level"?

On every radio , head unit you have an indication
To what volume level, min to max , 1-20 or something like that.

The radio head unit in the MINI belongs to a more modern generation of electronic devices.

The "volume" **** does not control the level directly, but just sends increment and decrement signals to an electronic switch that actually controls the level. So the rotational position of the **** is not a direct indication of the volume level. The same increment and decrement signals also come from pushbuttons on the steering wheel.

Another "fly by wire" control.

Most modern cars have dumped them....cause the volume produced can be impacted by different things....like speed sensitive volume control...heck...even gen1 cars did this...going back to 2002.....

Don't your ears tell you what the volume is?
