Why does turning on my headlights kill my antenna reception?

Title says it all. My mini gets pretty poor reception but when you turn the headlights on even with a good enough reception to be able to listen to a channel I instantly pick up a lot of static. I do have an aftermarket door speaker amp. Which also powers the rear speakers.
This is my set up. I have a Rockford 200 watt rms amp mounted under the blower motor on passenger side (under the dash). A 6 gauge power wire running from the battery along the passenger side of the car along the edge so it's tucked under the panels rather than the carpet and the ground for the amp is at the passenger kick panel to the frame. I also have a 12" sub in the trunk with a 200 watt rms amp all of the stuff for that is right in the trunk. Grounds to battery directly. Turning on or off on the sub amp does nothing to the signal. Headlights seem to play the role in static. Also just noticed a relay clicking noise similar to a blinker click while my cars idling and writing this post. Can't hear it from inside and now it's gone. This came from the rear passenger side. Around the wheel? It's also around 5-10 degrees out.

Since I have no idea of the age or condition of your vehicle, I have to assume that your charging system may not be in tip top shape. When you turn on your headlights you're drawing a lot of AMPs from the system thereby reducing the overall voltage available to the rest of the car. Are your headlights dimmer than they use to be? Also, you're running an aftermarket system, so the variables are even greater. I would hook up a multi-meter to the main power draw for your system and check the voltage when you turn on your headlights. My guess is there's a significant drop.

Check and clean all the battery connections, main power wires for your setup, and all the chassis grounds. Was it ever static free before?

Well the car actually didn't have a head unit when I got it so I put the sound system in it since I had a full system sitting new in box in my house. I will check voltage. I have some crappy hids so they do dim. I did replace my alternator with an oriellys rebuilt one. And I put a new battery in less than 6 months ago after my red top terminals broke and fried my voltage regulator.

I saw on another post there's supposed to be a signal wire fed with 12v current to switch on the antenna amp so I will check that out as well.

I have another vehicle with aftermarket HID's in it, and whenever the headlights are on it kills the weaker radio channels. I think it is from interference from the HID ballast.

My first question was going to be do you have aftermarket HID's? And I can see that you said you do. This is very common, the ballast bleeds out alot of RF interference. Google ways to fix it and you will find lots of suggestions on things to try.

Try something like this:

I love it when people don't post all their electrical mods when complaining about electrical problems. Excellent guesswork guys!

And if you weren't so grumpy you would have noticed I wasn't actually complaining I stated an issue and information on it. So don't really see where you are coming from. Why post this comment?

Damn it I fed the troll! It's my thread so who would you be talking to if you didn't quote anyone else? And how in the hell are you going to justify that? Your statement is loaded with evidence that I'm your target, you say excellent guess work guys(referring to the solutions/troubleshooting tip authors) not to mention I'm the only one who has asked for help on this thread anyway. So lay off.
