Speaker wiring help

My 06 has the basic stereo system.
I've got a pair of 6.5" coaxial speakers that I want to install in the front speaker location.
Was wondering how you folks wire things up? Do I just use the stock crossover (assuming there's a stock crossover since there's a tweeter and woofer) and wire to the separate tweeter and woofer connections on my speaker?
Would prefer to go through the aftermarket crossover but not sure if that's practical.
Thanks!

I have installed 6.5" components and 6.5" coax speakers in both my wifes 05 and my GP without any issues. I actually wired her speakers up to the front speaker wires from the factory wire going straight to the 6.5" coax in the door, I just cut the factory plugs off. I will tell you, the tweeter and the 6.5" speaker are wired separately and there is is no crossover in the door, so I just left the tweeter in tact for a little bit of extra highs. In my car, with the crossover, I ran the speaker wire to the crossover, then to the speaker. In any case, the aftermarket speakers are usually made with a deeper magnet, so I made spacers out of 3/8" MDF so they would fit and clear the window. I would just encourage you to put it in then try and put the window up and down to ensure it does not hit the wires or the speakers.

Best of luck, PM me if you run into trouble I am happy to help.

Interesting.
I'll take a better look at the wiring.
I'm going to use custom spacers made specifically for the Mini front doors.
Thanks
