Radio Replacement

Hey guys, Im thinking to replace my factory radio on my mini 2006 base with out Nav. I want to still be able to use controls on the steering wheel and not spend a lot of money.
Im looking at this radio:

and I was told I'll need this harness to be able to control it from the steering wheel:

Do you guys have a better option?

Please let me know

Thanks!!

What are you looking for from a head unit that you're not getting from the OEM unit? Without knowing that info, hard for anyone to comment whether the one you're looking at will meet your needs.
Also, you might want to post this (or have it moved) to the Nav and Audio forum.

Bluetooth is definitely something that would require a different unit. The OEM solution costs a fortune, and isn't widely available.
To move a thread, hit the red triangle by your first post, then in the comment box ask them to move it to the appropriate forum. Good luck!

If you want an upgraded head unit with built in blue-tooth, I would up the budget a bit. JVC's entry level stuff, in that price range, is good for what it is: Entry level upgrade with minimal features. Once you toss in features like bluetooth at that price range, you sacrifice quality.

I would look into a Kenwood Excelon(And only the Excelon line) for a unit with bluetooth(Kenwood's is built in, not a separate unit like Alpine and some others con you into), that also has the features you want.

You might end up spending more than $130, but also consider it is the source of all your sound, it is the main point of contact between you and your music. It's a very important part of the system to focus on.
