place to buy CD changer prewiring ?

Hey

So i just recently bought the silverline duo Ipod adaptor kit for a 2005 R53.
Unfortunatly it doesnt seem as though my car came prewired with the CD changer adaptor (Canadian car).
I was wondering if it could be possible to buy the wiring needed to have the 3-6 pin connectors that normally attach to the CD changer in order to plug the ipod adaptor

thx

BTW i have a H/K sound system

I believe best buy has a kit that will interupt your antenna and you tap into your radio power to charge the ipod, not ideal but will be cheaper. Around $150. You can only change songs via the ipod.

You might be better of to buy aux kit for the mini, it's about 40 USD and just clicks in the back of the radio. Not sure if it is different for the H/K but I don't see why it would.

+1

No difference in the head unit for the H/K system.

since i already purchased the DICE ipod interface (so that i can change songs with the steering wheel and radio) could it be possible to buy just the connecting wire that plugs in the back of the radio and that connects to the DICE ipod interface via a 3 and 6 pin connector
I know most models have it prewired but for some reason i dont have the connectors already installed.

I really want to be able to control the ipod from my radio or steering wheel, hence why i bought the interface

Thx for the replies

Got it from MINI2 forum
http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-gen...ger-cable.html

Consider a CD changer retrofit kit for e46/e39/e53/e83/e85. For shorter cables consider the kits for nav equipped cars.

I don't think I am following you on this. Are you saying that the retrofit harness for an E46BMW will plug into the MINI harness? The instructions look complex with lots of harness splicing to specific colour wires. Also the amp looks different on the BMW?
It doesn't look plug and play.

Actually the E46 was a bad example. The E46 with the CD/tape has the old 17 pin connector behind the radio. The MK3 nav equipped cars has the old 17 pin connector. To get a setup for the new 40 pin connector you need an E46 with MK4 nav, a late model E39, late model E85, E83 or E86.

But yes the connections required for the CDC are power GND and iBus, and for audio you need the twisted pair stereo run to the 12 pin Quadlock on the 40 pin radio connector.

One the CDC is powered up on the iBus it reports its presence to the radio and the CDC option is available in the radio.
