Blown HK Midrange?

Hi Y'all, first post, 2012 PW MCS Cabrio, love it. Have had it almost a year, nearly 5K miles and 100h top down zooming mostly around town, garaged. However, have recently made a couple of long top down freeway trips with music cranked and think I've blown the driver's side midrange. I'd like to think that there's something vibrating in there on the speaker, but, you know that sound when a speaker is blown. I'm not a full blown audiophile, but am close. That's why I got the HK. I have to say its pretty good, but... pales in comparison to the stock hifi system in my F150. It's got a sub. I've read alot on here about Integral Audio's speaker and sub upgrade and how it's matched to the MINI interior. So I'm thinking warranty repair/replacement of that speaker vs upgrading to the Integral Audio Soundstage and sub. My dealer is 2 and a half hours away. Factoring in the hassle of going there, perhaps having to leave the car, etc, I'm really seriously considering how that would offset the cost of that vs the Soundstage. Given it is expensive, but a day off for me to go to the dealer is also expensive. Also, I'm a DIY guy so the installation is not a big factor. Maybe I should just order a replacement midrange and be happy. What do you think?

Well, warranty will cost you a tank of gas to drive there and Integral Audio will cost a little over $2k. So pretty big difference there unless a day off for you equals 2k which if that were the case then I'm sure you wouldn't care about spending 2k either way.

Kevin over at Integral Audio is a great guy to deal with. Give him a ring and talk it over with him. But if I were you I would get the h/k fixed and then sell the h/k system to help pay for the upgraded Integral Audio set up.

Also, fyi, you're posting in the Gen 1 forum. You need to be over in the gen 2 forum. Anyways, good luck whatever route you take and welcome to the board.
P.S. call Kevin @ Integral Audio and upgrade to their Soundstage. Reviews I've read have all raved about it.
