Well, mine has been dead for a while now and finding a replacement amp is a PITA. Also, you gotta ask yourself if a used one is worth the premium price. With the number of failed amps on this website alone, I'm gonna say it a gamble not worth taking at this point.

I still can't believe how many amps have died. Is there a recall out there that we didn't know about?

I guess I'm just gonna have the car rewired for a normal set-up.

Does anyone know a good installer in the DC metro area. I am not going to bestbuy and have my car rewired.

 

Yeah it sucks. Ours died recently too. I bought TWO off of eBay and both didn't work (postal insurance covered refund!), and finally sucked it up and got the $1200 one from MINI. Though now I have two head units to sell (they were sets with the amps).
