Good subs to put in Mini? (Stereo too?)
Hi, I've recently gotten an '05 Mini Cooper and I wanted to put a system that could kick. I was wondering if these were good to put in the back?
MTX Magnum MB210SP Dual 10" Enclosure/Amp Combo
It's cheap and it has some pretty decent reviews. If not, what would be good to put in?
Oh ALSO, what would be a decent stereo that would have an auxiliary input?
Thanks for any information,
Joey

In my opinion, that's overkill. I have a single 10" Kicker sub in a single sealed truck box. Because the MINI will act like one huge speaker, the box does not need to be ported. My sub is 300W, and the accompanying amp is 250W. And I feel like I'm gonna vibrate my a$$ out the dang thing!
The factory deck is Alpine made for MINI, so you should keep it. Unless you are really into the aftermarket designer scene. Since yours is an '05, you can put in the AUX port, and you should also be able to play MP3 CDs in the deck (and the changer if you have it).

Chances are you may not be able to get that dual MTX box to fit anyways. But I agree with JumpingJackFlash. 2 10"s would be too much for a small car like the MINI, and without an amp and aftermarket speakers you probably wouldn't be able to hear the accompanying music. I had 2 12"s in my old 4dr sedan. Even for my "highschool kid phase" it was just too loud and I had most of the settings turned down to minimal levels so I could enjoy the music. It was fun to see drive in movies in it though!
So, I went back and looked at some stuff. Maybe this here (Looking at the frequently bought together, too. Because the amp is there. And this truck box for the MINI?

I had the 12" version and they kick pretty hard when they wear in good. I also pushed them pretty hard so I know they can last a long time. Polk is also pretty good about their warranty too. I busted a Polk speaker and they replaced it no questions asked. Polk generally has better sensitivity compared to other low-end products, which is also important.

I'm not gonna get that amp, but I'm HIGHLY considering that Kicker and box. The stock stereo is gonna go though, I just don't know what I'm gonna put there yet. I'm not too picky, so I don't care about color, but I would like IPOD or AUX at least.
