Has anyone installed a Sound Ordnance B-8PT subwoofer?

I just purchased a new Sound Ordnance B-8PT subwoofer from Crutchfield. I'm planning to intall this in the back of my 2008 Clubby. Since this is the first time I've ever attempted to install a subwoofer, I just wanted to see if anybody else had successfully installed this subwoofer (or anything similar) to share your experiences.

I just purchased one too. I suggest you read through the BASS600 Powered Sub threads. The dimensions of the SO are almist identical to the Bass600.

I plan to do a rear seat delete and use a portion of the passenger rear seat well for the SO. It will not fit completely under either the driver or passenger front seat.

Most Bass600 installs rest the powered sub against the drivers side panel in the boot, held in place with cargo netting. There is no reason why the SO couldn't be installed in a similar manner.

Many have tapped into the rear cigarette lighter socket for power. That circuit apparently has a 20A fuse while the SO is fused at 15A.

To get the speaker signals, you are going to want to tap into the X9331 connector behind the drivers side kick pane. Many of the Bass600 threads show you how to do that. One advantage the SO offers over the Bass600 is that it can auto turn on and off based on speaker feeds so you won't need an on/off input as you need with the Bass600.

So do a search on Bass600 and start reading. Or you may want to start with this link.

My install is also going to use an Alpine 4 channel amp to power my upgraded front speakers, so my approach is slightly different. The preamp outputs from the Alpine are going to provide signals to the SO. If you are interested in the approach I plan to take, it is in this thread.
