Bluetooth mic issues

My 2010 MCS has Bluetooth and people said it sounded like I was in a can.
Talked to my saleman, Marc at Dreyer-Reinbold-INDY and he said he could move it from the passenger side of the control panel to the driver side.
He pryed off the tan cover off over the interior light/moon roof
and simply released the retaing clip, remounted on the LF and then snapped
the cover back on. Turn up the volume after you connect to your call
and things should sound fine. Just do it !!

Unfortunately, I have done that and it made no difference. Customers were complaining afterwards just as much.

There might be some other problem, other than microphone location on your Bluetooth set ups. My Bluetooth sounds clear as a bell to callers, with my MINI. The microphone is in the stock location. Could it be the model of phone rather than the MINI's fault? I just have a cheapy LG Flip phone and it works flawlessly with the MINI Bluetooth set up.

I've had several different phones on multiple carriers (Sprint, Verizon and AT$T), and while there were some distinct differences in sound quality, none of them worked well enough for me to be able to carry on significant conversations unless I slowed to under 30mph. Since I travel extensively via MCS from coast to coast, I had to find a different solution. I am not crazy about having to wear an earpiece, but the sound quality and nosie cancelling made the Jawbone the winner (I had also tried serveral Plantronics and Motorola earpieces before I was through).

Trust me, I am not uber-sensitive nor hard to please. I understand that using bluetooth technology is going to require some compromise, but I am baffled (and less than pleased) why both my 2009 and my 2010 MCS's sound significantly worse than what Chevy can muster in their vehicles.

I never realized how simple this would be! Thanks so much for this info!

Mine on my '09 Clubman used to seem better than it has lately but I am definitely going to give this a try!
