Backround noise on phone problem--help!

I have a 2010 Cab with factory Nav and Bluetooth. My Blackberry pairs without problem including the phone book adn voice dialing. The call quality is fine while parked but is so bad at 40mph plus that nobody can understand a word I say.
Does Anyone have a suggestion?
thank you

well two things come to mind.

1. It is a Cabrio (or at least that what I understand from your post) and those are much noisier than a hardtop. I.E. increased noise causes problem with the microphone picking it up as the mic is near the steering wheel in that car I believe. Even in a hardtop with the windows down there really is to much noise for the person on the other end to understand you easily. The mics are just to far away from your mouth to be able to discriminate between wind and talking.

2. With the top down there is just so much wind noise it will be impossible for someone to hear you while the car is moving.

Both of these are just standard physics that unfortunately we can not change.

I have a friend that has a Cabrio and even with a bluetooth headset right on his ear and a mic right in front of his mouth with the top down he can not be understood.

I think what schatzy62 said is no doubt the major factor.

You could try moving the Bluetooth microphone to the driver's side...schatzy62 and some others posted the instructions here:

I'm not sure that it will solve your problem...but I don't think that it could hurt...

I understand that it woud not be reasonable to expect to be able to talk with the yop down. the problen is when the top is UP. Unless I am virtually sannding still everyone complains about static.

Cabrio's do not have the microphone up on the roof as in the hardtop and clubman as there is not really a big panel up there from what I know. But I could be wrong. I think I remember someone stating it was down on the dash behind the steering wheel.

with the top up and the windows closed i would think that it would work beu that there would still be a lot of ambient noise as the top will do very little to drown out the noise as hardtop would.

If the person on the other end states that it sounds more like static then you could have a loose connection that my work it's way totally loose soon.
