How to add USB to my 2009 mini

I have a 2009 Clubman S with the standard AUX port. I want to add a USB port for playing music integrated with stereo and steering wheel. My wife has a 2010 clubman with the USB port and AUX. I don't care about the bluetooth (which she has) but I want to be able to play music thru my flash drive instead of cds. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is a Bluetooth/USB retrofit kit as reported on MotoringFile: http://www.motoringfile.com/wp-conte...578087307c.pdf. The MINI system is only available with USB and Bluetooth together (probably a single electronics module that combines both functions). It looks to me that if you only want USB, you only need to purchase the 6ND kit for $210. The dealer probably has to program the car as well.

As for the USB it is handled by the ULF module and that is the module that also handles teh bluetooth conntection.

On top of the ULF module you will also need the wiring harness and the new palastics for the center console. If those are included int eh retrofit kit i am not sure.

Looks like $1000

Looks like it'll cost me close to $1,000 for the USB port (and the Bluetooth, which I don't care for), about the same as (integrated) satellite radio retrofit. Ges I'll have to stick with CDs. Thank you for your comments.

The stereo in the MINI will play MP3's. You can burn about 150 or so MP3's onto a CD. Not so bad now.

If you've got the factory nav system, you can swap out the map disc for an MP3 DVD too- it takes a couple minutes to load the track data, but does work (although it's at the expense of navigation).

That is the max size of a CD but if you rip you music so MP3 they take up a lot less space and can you can put any time more than 17 on a CD.

This is how I play mp3s in my car. When burned in mp3 format, anywhere between 120 and 150 songs depending on the song size and bit format. Can even folder different songs/albums, works just like an mp3 player.
