Got a JL12w3-D4 and Xtant A6001T amp put into my backend while I was out of town getting certified as a scuba diver. Here are the pictures. Also have the remote bass **** so that I dont look like a jackass pulling up to a light shaking the car beside me. Its not the nicest thing but it is the best car audio box/false floor ive ever had.

Far away view

Amp/False floor - they didnt want to drill through the frame where the seats meet the backend - So they had to show 2 wires..

From the side - It was all custom made to fit into the back end...

Normal view

Yeagy,

Lovely Sub and amp setup but the 12" sub is huge!. What if you put two of them in there?
What is the rest of your set up? Stock audio or H/K or custom?
What was the relative cost and how many Watts to drive the sub.
How do you like it?

I know - Its alittle bit to big for what I like.

What if you put two of them in there?
Then I would go deaf and die.

>>What is the rest of your set up?
Stock audio (for now atleast)

>>What was the relative cost and how many Watts to drive the sub.
I bought the sub/amp off of ebay for dirty cheap. Amp ~220 Sub~130 (came with a powerwedge box that was way to big) Boxes/JL amp kit/Install ~550 = ~900 for the whole deal...

>>How do you like it?
When I picked up the car I didnt have the remote bass **** to control the gain. So the installer ofcourse made the car as loud as he could. Sounded like ****. I couldnt even drive home with it on. My teeth were shattering and I had the bass on the head unit all the way down and trebal all the way up. Came home and found that my bass **** came in the mail and went to the car to put it in. Ran the wire for that under the back seat and under the Ebrake caseing. Went to an open parking lot and fine tuned the amp for my likeing. I can turn the bass all the way off and and all the way up to blury vision. So I like it alot better now. By far the loudest/clearest subwoofer system Ive ever had.

If you compare yeagy's sub/amp with JL stealthbox and amp-

Yeagy's sub system-
12"sub has stronger bass (stealthbox is 10&quot and plays at higher volume with less distortion
Costs less than Stealthbox ($540 +$100 installation) with amp (depending on brand/size of amp), another $400-600.
Takes up twice as much space as Stealthbox
Probably weighs more than Stealthbox

The stealth was never in my mind. I have had 2 10's (jl10w3's)before in my old jeep and I liked the fast hitting bass, but in the past year I have grown more towards hip-hop music. Im not sure on weight, but I do not carry a spare or the tools to change a tire. Then add in the 3 bottles of fix-a-flat and box/amp and im sure im still at stock weight. The stealthbox comes with a 10W0 I think and those sound like **** when played loud and can take MAYBE 300 watts without blowing up. Im giving this sub 300watts and it takes it with ease, and if I get serious I can always change out to a D2 or D6 sub and wire it to 2ohms and pump 600 watts into it.
Now to the bad news......
I went to the bar tonight to watch the cowboys game (COWBOYS ARE SUCKING!!!!) and when I left I tried to wash my windsheild. Wipers moved up 1/3 of the way and froze...They wouldnt not come down until I moved this by force with my hand. Im going back to Cartoys tomorrow and making them fix it.
Thanks for all the comments...keep them coming!

Very Nice!
I am anti Stealth box. I prefer a custom setup. 12" was the way to go.
I thought about using a pair of 12", but I think that will just rattle the car apart.
So a pair of 10" subs are going in the boot come January (I stll prefer rock over hip-hop)
