Bazooka Tube with H/K. Same as normal sub?

Hi there. I was looking into getting a Bazooka tube to throw in the back of my cabrio, but was wondering if it would still have the issue of needing to be tapped into the rear speakers to work right?

I'm a total noob when it comes to audio upgrades, so any insight will be welcomed!

Here's what I was looking at. I just wanted a little extra bass, and my trunk isn't big enough for boxes really. This will save me some money too.

If booming resonant bass is what you want, and not tight controlled, well defined bass, then a Bazooka Tube will suit your needs. A cursory glance suggests that this unit does indeed simply splice into the rear speakers.

I just want bass for a good price that won't take up my whole trunk. Which is smaller then a normal MINI since it's a cabrio.

There are some threads on here about people making custom boxes and making a false floor to put a sub in. I dont know how interested you would be in that though. $250 seems kind of expensive for something that from what I have heard isnt that great. Here is an MTX kit that should probably fit in the trunk. FWIW I had a 1 10" MTX 7500 in my trunk for a while and loved it.

Looking over the details, it appears you couldn't ask for a simpler setup if you have a MCS. The Bazooka tube has high level speaker input and auto-on function. This means you connect the main power and ground directly to the battery in the trunk. Then tap into one of the rear speakers and run that into the high level input on the Bazooka. Set it for auto-on, configure the cross-over frequency and then volume level.
