Weird Problem with Alpine iDA-X305

I just replaced the factory HU in my 2002 Cooper with an Alpine iDA-X305. I added the bluetooth adapter and a PAC-SWI-Jack, so I can connect with my iPhone and use the steering wheel controls.

Here's the problem: When I first start the car with my iPhone 3GS connected using the USB cable I can listen to music for about 15 seconds and then the stereo goes silent. If I unplug and replug the phone everything works fine, until the next time I start the car. Happens every time.

Anybody else with this problem? Any fixes out there?

Thanks, kids.
