What's included in the 2010 HK deal?
I did a search.. I realize it's not being built til December, but I can't get details on what you get for your $1300. It's also unclear whether you pay $1300 on top of $500 for Hifi or just $1300 total. It's also unclear whether the HiFi option is still there. I didn't mess with the configurator I figure somebody knows already.
Premium pkg for R56 and R55 = 403 Sunroof, 534 Auto A/C $1250
once HK comes back it's $1750 for the pkg. (including the HK)
Premium pkg for R57's = 302 alarm system
345 chromeline interior
346 Chromeline exterior
534 Auto A/C $1250
once HK comes back it's $1750 for the pkg including the HK.
This is taken directly from the memo titled:
"Mini Prodcut Planning & Strategy
YO VINNIE! Harman/Kardon Causes Panic At The Disco."
Or you can order the HK by itself for $750 as a solo option. But it won't build till Dec. 09.

Yup...Just ordered my 2010 today and told them I did not want the car built until H/K was available. They told me the same thing that MINI will begin building H/K's week 39. I took a week 41 build to be safe.

A month or so ago, the MINI service manager was telling me it would probably be available around January. He was guessing around $1000, and said it would be a very slick drop-in for my 2009 MCS with hi/fi - mounting nearly the same, connectors, etc. (maybe there's more accurate detailed info floating around? if so, please point me there; I haven't been on the boards in a while)
I'm eagerly awaiting a demo unit I can listen to before deciding if I want the retrofit or an aftermarket solution to my muddy hi/fi.

What I heard from the service lead was that the retrofit was not exactly the same as what will come stock - as in, you couldn't just take a stock system and throw it in a 2009 or something. But that the retrofit kit was going to be drop-in, using the same harnesses and everything.
This was all just off-the-cuff "you know, I heard about this new stereo thing..." sort of a chat. I didn't see anything in writing, and (if I remember correctly) he was going off memory from a show-and-tell with a MINI rep. that was a week or two earlier.
I'll be very interested to see what comes of it all.
