If this is a leased car it must be turned in will all it's original components.

If it is not a leased car then i ti possible MAYBE. it all depends on the wiring harness in the new car some will not take the older components also the programing of the car will be incorrect every time they go to do an update as the VIN number dictates what upgrade are done and if it has componenets that are not listed for the VIN number then those will not be upgraded and that can cause some other problems. Some items can be added others can not.

What exactly is the situation and what parts are you trying to change out?

if the new car has BLuetooth then changing it to the Bluetooth/USB option is doable but there is at least one wiring harness that would be needed.

If the new car dos not have bluetooth then there needs to be a few (3 i believe) wiring harnesses added or changed.

HiFi takes a completely different main harness than the non HiFi so it means takign the whole car apart. Buy a new car with it already built in. Also the HiFi option IMHO sucks. Read here about how many people dislike it.

Again NAV has a completely different wireing harness in the car. not at all practile to change.

Yes but the cost is still a factor. I would suggets just finding a car with the options you want rather than spending all kinds of extra money to do something after the fact. it will surely cost you more in the long run to redo the car.

Also remember that some parts (like the speedo and stereo) are tied to one specific mini, so you might need to take the car in to the dealership to have the new hardware bound to your mini. Also, whenever you install something new (like, for example, if I went in and had satellite radio put into my mini) the dealership would have to re-program my mini with software which supports the new hardware.

If your friend works at the dealership and can do all of this for free, then I don't see a problem with it... if not... well, it can get pretty pricey...
