As far as I can tell the IDA-X300 doesn't have the steering wheel control jack on the back of it like the IDA-X100. Also no USB. I looked at Crutchfield and they're listing that unit as discontinued. The newer IDA-X303 (low stock) has both SWC and USB as does the IDA-X100, IDA-X200 (1 month wait) and IDA-X305 (short wait).
the x300 has a $70 attachment that will enable the steering wheel controls, do your research, i don't have it so i can't promise it works but i have heard it does
almost bought the ida-x303 and luckily found out b4 purchase that it doesn't allow changing the button color to red. Guess will have to wait for the x305 to go on sale.
I also have this unit in my mini. I like the unit a lot. I have a 32gb usb hooked up to it...and the old version sirus radio as well... I was actually thinking about getting a different deck...When it is sunny out I cant see the screen at all...which makes it hard to select music on the files on my usb.....

Did you need to hook up a power wire to the fuse box? If so what fuse did you use?
I just installed an Alpine unit in my wife's car following Crutchfield's guide which had me wire it to the Wiper Fuse. The unit does not turn off/on with the ignition.

No I never had to hook it up to a different fuse...I remember tapping into a wire from deck wire harness to a wire on the car factory wire harness.. I cant exactly remember what it was at the moment...ill see if I can figure it out and let u know
