Anyone have a DIY to remove rear interior?

Hey all,

Does anyone have a DIY on how to remove the rear interior without breaking everything?

Namely im wanting to get access to the amp...surprise surprise mine has died.

In searching I only found one post mentioning it, and the two or three pics had since been deleted.

Cheers in advance
Matt

sorry mate, wish I would've documented it. Really quite simple actually, just unscrew everything that looks like it can be unscrewed (using commen sense of course), and then give the plastic pieces a good tug. Everything pops right out.

(I'm assuming you have an R56 like me)

EDIT: Disregard...I just saw this thread is under the Gen 1 section...DOH!

Cheers guys. Sadly that link doesnt actually mention how to remove the rear paneling. Says how to remove the rear seats to get to the speakers, (which I found out the hard way the other day lol) but doesnt go on any further to mention the panels.

here are a few pics from when i tore my mini open (see the google pics link)

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...quiet-now.html

basically for the rear panels, you have a couple of options.
1. actually remove the rear seat backs to remove the rear panel
2. CUT the rear panel where the rear seat back bar goes through it

i went with option 2. its way easier and faster. it allows for easier removal and re-installatin of your rear quarter panel. also, you cant even see the small bit of removed plastic...

see if this pics works for you..

i just used some wire cutters, and you can see the "line" where i cut up through both holes. follow this "line". to initially get the panel out, i made 1 cut for the bottom, ended up just ripping the panel out, then noticing i had to make a second cut. either way works! lol. i just cleaned it up after. again, you cant see these cuts bc they sit under the seat and carpet.
