Finished GTmat Install! Super quiet now!
I have spent a good several hours installing my GTmat into my Mini. I am totally pleased with the results! (again!)
this time i was able to install GTmat in my doors, rear hatch door and bumper, and i was able to finish under the rear seats, boot, battery compartment, and even got some under the hood area.
i have a lot of pics on my google plus, but NAM wont re-direct you... so, im going to split the link into 2 pieces. copy and paste them together in your URL, maybe that will work :P let me know if the link works, and what you think!

hard to say... i had a 50 sq ft roll, plus a 10 ft roll... used pretty much all 10 ft in the boot, id say, another 10 ft btwn the 2 doors, and another 5? on the rear hatch and misc spots... so, total, perhaps 20-30 sq ft.
i didnt go "crazy" on the doors, there was room for much more. however, weight will become a "concern" if i just used all of what i had. Its not always the quantity that makes a diff, but rather Where you place the GTmat.
Bang / tap on metal parts. if it reverberates, put a square of GTmat on it. Tap it again, itll sound "softer". that was one of my methods. another trick, cut up lots of it in long strips, using the width of a large ruler (mine was about 2 inches). Then you have a nice big pile of easily managed strips. i also made several 1", 1.5", and even 1/2" strips as well. comes in handy for the smaller spots you find.
i also found out why our doors squeak! its those tabs on the inside. some are "loose" in their holders, causing a very slight rattle / squeak when the car drives down the road. i took a small square of GTmat, put it on the back of the little plastic post, stuck it back in place. Put the doors on, and Bam! no more random rattles and squeaks! im getting towards Mercedes quite here! jk, not that quite, but much much nicer!
