Best front speakers to replace stock?
I just bought a used mini and it sounds like the passenger bass unit is blown (besides the fact that all the others sound like crap anyway). I have the stock head unit as well. I know every car has certain speaker specs given size, what is the common replacement for this car to sound pretty good without replacing the whole system (in my 350Z, I have an Alpine head unit, and FOCAL speakers all around, but I don't want to invest that kind of money into this unit right now).
THANKS!!!!!

I think Crutchfield has some plug and play speakers for the MINI system.
I put in some Infinity Kappas in my car, had to custom make mounts/brackets for them and rework the wiring, but the sound is amazing.

For the front speakers no matter what you buy there will be some slight modding to the mounting and wire connections. Nothing big though, its a simple 10 min. job! I have JBL GTO 6.5"s up front with 6x9"s in the rear sides. They are the 3 way model and I love them!
Honestly, any aftermarket speakers will be a good improvement over stock. I'm happy with my kappa's, but if you're going to keep the stock deck, look into a lower power speaker, like the reference series. A speaker with a high power requirement can overdrive the stock deck and possibly damage both. Just remember to get a component set, We've got tweeters in a decent location, make sure to replace those too.
Now if you're looking to really step up, really good speakers will need a 4 channel amp, and one of the many integration kits that allows you to keep the stock deck. But in the end, it's cheaper to replace the deck than it is to get one of those integration kits.

I am not looking to spend a ton of money and redue the whole system with a seperate amp, etc... (I have been down that road many times, and that is what I have going in my other car,, but as a 3rd car, I don't want to invest that kind of money, just something that works decent)
