Finally Possible to get Nuvi Directions Thru Stereo?

In the Parrot thread, bobj posted a link to a British website which I think has a plug and play device that will allow a GPS to give instructions over the radio in the MINI. The link is below. I would love it if someone who knows this stuff could look at this and see if I am reading it right. Will it work with Nuvi 760?

The same site has a neat power takeoff from the lighter which does not require cutting any of the car's wire harness. It looks like you can just plug in the GPS's existing plug (for both power and traffic) and hide it in the dash.

Does anyone know if these products are available here in the US. The British Pound is kicking our Dollar's butt right now!

I just bit the bullet and bought it. It is easy to install once you have the radio out. It has a wiring harness that you place inline with the one that connects to the back of the radio as well as a control module. On the control module it has a connection for a 3.5 mm audio jack that connects to the output from the Nuvi. When the Nuvi talks it mutes the stereo.

So, do you like it? Which model of Nuvi do you have? This looks like it makes your external GPS perform like the MINI Navigation system. The biggest problem I have with the 760 is that I can't hear it with the windows down.

If you don't mind me asking, did you hardwire the power also? I'm curious if the traffic antenae (at the end of the plug) still get a signal when its hidden under the dash?

And did you have any problem buying the connector from the British site?

Sorry for so many questions!
Thanks, Rich

Yes I really like and I am glad I got it. I have a Nuvi 350 with the factory mount on the tach, which is hardwired in for power. Very easy to purchase from newministuff.com. I received it alot quicker than I expected to.

Also when I mentioned it mutes the stereo I should have said it just mutes the front speakers.
