Are antennas diff on MCS with Navigation?

so when i bought my car.. it had a sharkfin antenna (with no antenna stick stick outta it).. but i took my car to the car wash, and during so, they broke my antenna.. now it looks like i have a ghetto metal iron on my roof.

does the navigation have something to do with that antenna??

I think the question that everyone is pondering is .. does the computer and/or radio still work with your navigation despite the damaged antenna?

On the 02-04 MINIs they had that sharkfin antenna if you have NAV, on the 05-06 they all look the same nav or no nav, but the internals I don't know how they look like on the 05-06 if you have nav. So I would say, yes the antenna has something to do with the 02-04 Nav since it looks different, as compared with the non-nav 02-04 MINIs the antenna base is quite small.

But also, if the car wash broke it, why not make them pay for it?

Yes, most definitely, the antennas are very different for Nav vs. non-Nav, in any 1st Gen model year... but in your case, it might only be a cover that needs to be replaced...

That is the Nav antenna. The radio antenna is in your rear passenger side glass.
