Myron & Davis Bluetooth Install Questions

Hey fellow motorers. I need a touch of help on my newest addition. I saw the Myron Davis Bluetooth kit on Moss shortly before they stopped carrying it. I now have it boxed and ready for installation, likely after the 10" of snow we're expecting this week. It integrates into the stock head unit. To install it, I need to wire its harness into the head unit. So here are the questions...

1) Anyone done this before? Any DIY post on this product (Couldn't find one)?

2) How do you remove the head unit? I've tried to remove the down tubes, but it never seems to be as straightforward and easy as its always portrayed, so I've always given up out of fear of breaking anything.

3) Will removing/disconnecting the head unit render it useless? Is is coded? I know that many factory units have this as a safety mechanism.

Thanks a ton guys. Happy Motoring and safe driving.

Okay well can anyone at least tell me if I can safely remove the head unit without it locking down?

Max,

Sorry that I can't help you with the Bluetooth kit. But WRT to the head unit, loosen the downtubes. They don't have to be removed - just unanchored after the screws are taken out. I jiggled them up/down. Then swing them outwards towards the doors. That will expose the screws for the HU. After the screws are removed, the HU pulls out towards you.

I don't recall the head unit to be locked after taking the harness out. It's working fine for me after my recent DICE install.

Alright well thanks for the response. That's helpful. I think I can figure out the rest. The wiring harness was much more complex than I expected, but I contacted the manufacturer for a bit of assistance. After installing the Sirius and the Drive+Play, I'd like to think I can manage this.
