All of the navigation icons in a PDF!

I just took out the Nav DVD to have a look around and see what I could "hack".

Anyway, I found a directory full of giff's named for what they are. They are all the Nav icons it displays on screen. So I copied them and renamed them to look "real perty like" (said in full southern accent!), and finally burnt a nice PDF of them all. Mini should put this in the manual.

Here ya go, enjoy!!

Great job!

Thanks for doing all that work for us.

Now the question is... Why couldn't MINI do this for us??? I guess $2,100 just doesn't provide enough profit for them to properly document their nav system. Oy!

Birdman, would you mind if I posted the PDF at mini2.com, with attribution of course and a link to this thread? Or maybe you're a mini2 user yourself?

Sure, post away. I'm a user on mini2, but don't get there often.

Okay, I'm clueless here -- my nav system does not show any icons. How can I get icons to display?

Only one type of icon will display on the nav screen at a time and the way you get them to display on the map is to search for a point of interest (i.e. a restaurant, gas station, etc.).

The type of the last search you made will be the icons that are shown on the screen. So... If you happened to be searching for a gas station, then icons for all the gas stations will appear on the map.

When you are done with the icons, you can then go back and have the system hide them.

Strange indeed, but that's the way the system works.

I have been trying to figure out why my icons changed all the sudden (and what the heck they meant!) and now I know! Thanks!

So we have a 2010 Mini with Nav and no one can tell me what this symbol is: a dot with 2 white circles. There are 2 of them in this picture. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Just figured it out. When I seached for "Downtown" that is the symbol that appears. Funny thing when I was driving back from AMVIV7 that symbol would appear in the strangest places out in the middle of the desert. Guess it was showing downtowns of the past - "Ghost Towns" would anyone believe?

Anyone have a similar doc for 'system' icons?

There must be a better name for them, but I couldn't think of it.

I'm referring to the icons that show up in the bottom line of the display--I know there's an un-smiley face for missed calls, and a white triangle that apparently means one's cell phone is roaming.

I looked in the entertainment/nav manual, and didn't see them, which was surprising, given that there's a section on the icons used _in the manual_.

Anyway... Has anyone compiled a list?

On a related note, does anyone know what colors mean on the roads? For example, one side and one cloverleaf on my home interchange is purple, with the rest of freeway being yellow.
