Cell Phone Solutions

Hey guys, got a question. How'd you all go about situating your cell phones? I have a Samsung BlackJack. If any of you have one or a PDA phone let me know how you mounted them up.

You clearly dont use the vibrate feature. I've nearly jumped out the car when that goes off in te front pocket without warning

Got to say, stashed in my purse where it belongs when I'm driving. I've not yet become one with my cell phone and don't see it happening in this life time.

I bought a MINI-specific mounting base from Kuda http://www.kudausa.com/kuda_mount_an...6-34-314.html# and then attached a $5 universal cell phone holder for my BlackBerry 8800. It works great when I need to use my BB's built-in GPS and the mount is completely removable.

I went the dashboard version for my MCS, but had the console-mounted version in my old Infiniti FX. Personally, I like having the phone at eye-level rather than down low. It's less distracting when I'm using my GPS and allows me to see the caller-ID information when I get a call.

Total installation was about two minutes: one mintues to attach the universal holder to the mount and one minute to slide the mount in place on the dashboard. The mount has a tab that simply slides under the vent cover on top of the dashboard and and another tab that slides underneath the top of the dashboard cover. It's suprisingly sturdy but it can block the buttons on either side of the speedometer depending on where you mount it.

At $56, it's not the cheapest solution, but it works well for me.

I have a blackjack, too. It fits perfect in the front cup holder. Doesn't move, and faces you so you can read who's calling.

Works great teamed up with the bluetooth kit I picked up in the vendor area here.

Idea

Here is how I mounted my RAZR. It is easily adaptable to any phone.

Mine slides into the holder that I have mounted and it charges it. I have bluetooth (Parrot EVO) to talk hands free and can use the buttons on my wheel.

I have bluetooth as well, so as long as it's on, it doesn't matter where I put it. But I tend to put it (iPhone) in the passenger side small cupholder.
