I think the local DOT would have a problem with that.

Hmmm. Not sure how to take that.....

Seriously, I didn't know what the OP meant at first. The word "navigation" isn't even mentioned.

I've not seen any options in the NAV for changing name orientation.

I believe there are different ways to view the NAV. IIRC, you can have the map full screen, or you can have a split screen where the other part has a directional arrow with the name of the upcoming street in fairly large type. I use the spit screen and don't have any trouble reading the street.

I don't have any problem reading street names either. Not sure what your looking at. Maybee you need to zoom in a bit. I leave mine on 800 or 400ft normally.

I think ninja means that, for example, when a grid of streets is displayed with several street names, it can be difficult to tell which street name belongs with which line on the map.

Yes, I figured that. But if you are in 800 or 400ft mode, it is very clear.

Just got my Sept build R56 with Nav and am having some real heart burn with this as well. One thing I noticed that helps a tiny bit, and you have to dangerously take your eyes off the road in order to see, but there is a small black dot associated with each road name on the applicable road (line). It is usually next to the first or the last letter of the name. Not easy to see, but it seems to help in the less cluttered displays.

You folks can display road names? I haven't figured out how to get them to display yet. I've read the manual but can't seem to find it. Help, please?

I agree, it's difficult to read street signs with all the street names displayed horizontally. I wish Mini would come up with an upgrade to display the street names based on the street orientation.

Perhaps you are zoomed out too far? Twist the joystick to zoom in.

Thanks, Robin. That doesn't make any difference... I've tried zooming in all the way, and out. I've just re-read the )&$@#%&* manual for the 4th time, and it's not in there. And the dealer is absolutely useless. Anybody else have a suggestion please?

Also no street names are displayed if you are in perspective view. So that might be the issue.
