Cute idea. Are you giving these away? If you plan to sell them, you need to contact Mark about setting up a Vendor Agreement.

This one in particular I can't sell... I used some 3d graphics i found around, I just did the editing and all steps necessary to make it a garmin model. As long as everyone plays nice I can share it for free and educational purposes :-)
If there are ppl interested I could make custom 3D cars from their own cars and stuff in exchange for some gas money :-). (the ones i make for myself will just give away)
Where can i put the files?

BTW.. the 3d rotation in the preview display is not smooth.. this is my first attempt and basically an Alpha not even beta.... but when you are driving you cant notice those imperfections at all..

And eventhough its not really a big deal, im thinking about doing custom splash screens for the Nuvi and similar models too, i could share those too.

also here are bigger scsreenshots

That's very cool!

Are you aware that there are a number of MINI "avatars" available for the Nuvi already?

Do a search for this topic, they were posted somewhere, I downloaded them all and am using the green one with the jack on top. Fun!

Would it be possible to take one of those and just change the colors?

I like the idea of being able to make one with your own car tho!

Yes i've seen the nuvi ones ,(shortly after I did mine haha) , Im actually thinking of grabbing the green one, remove the flag and add stripes to it. SO yes, it is possible to change those cars, its just a bit of trouble to make colors match and stuff. I think this calls for a tutorial :-D

Would like to hear comments... also check the Hack I featured, I think its very important for garmin to fix this.
