Stock 2006 stereo head needed

I am looking for a stock 06 mini stereo head that has the CD changer controls for my GP. The stereo it came with is super basic and I can't move through songs on the I Pod through the stereo controls on the wheel, just on the I Pod because it does not have the CD changer control function. Thanks for your help!

I want to keep the stock look.

Do you know if your Mini was wired for a changer? If it is, the stereo most likley has the changer controls built into it.

We've done a couple of installs on the GPs - the radios did not change other than MP3 support, the buttons are exactly the same.

A MY06 radio will be exactly what you already have.

Actually Tom, the stereo in a GP *is* different to other MINIs - that pic above is not a GP ... but this is:

The buttons are all still there, just in different places. No idea why it might affect iPod / CD control

What I've heard is that this style of headunit has been the standard issue in Europe for the past few years. It was used in the GP and also became the standard headunit for the US starting in mid/late 06 manufacture date. I don't remember the details but I think it is made by Philips (other unit is Alpine), and it can display traffic info broadcasts in Europe.

There are a few iPod kits on the market, we'll have to find out from Ruhne what kit he has, or if he is using AUX.

As Mikey said...

Also, the radios in the GP are made by Siemens VDO and have TMC capabilities. The normal radio that is sent to the US does not have TMC and is made by Alpine.
