Hi all!
Hi all!
I'm new to the Nashville area. I live in Columbia but work at Best Buy in Brentwood and would like to thank whoever left the little laminated note on my car. I frequent NAM regularly but have never noticed this forum. I love Mini's and german made cars in general, I'm a master certified ASE technician and took a job at Best Buy in order to go back to school and moved up here from south Mississippi about a month and a half ago in order for my wife (who is of course done with all her school) to take a job at The King's Daughters School for Autism where she is a teacher. I have a 04 S 6speed that is red with a black roof and a skull and cross wrenches on the roof. I actually have a neighbor with a 04 S (black w/ white roof) that has informed me of some of the track days that I am super stoked about I just have to find a weekend to go. If anyone has plans to go shoot me a line, otherwise I look forward to meeting all my local Mini brothers and sisters.
YAY!!! Welcome!
That was me that tagged you yesterday. I've dubbed myself "The MINI Hunter" because I'm always stalking the parking lots for MINIS to tag.
It's always nice to have a new person join us. Hope you will be able to join us for some group drives. We have one coming up soon. . check out the thread for more info.
And again - WELCOME!

V73W...welcome to Nashvegas! I grew up in Long Beach, MS, graduated from USM (with Brett Favre so I'm an old guy) and found my way to Nashville via Westlake Village, CA and then the San Francisco bay area. Hopefully we can meet up & say hi. I kept Best Buy Brentwood in business this past year after I bought my house.
It's great to have a place with so many active local mini owners and I'm gonna have to make sure to tag me a mini soon and I appreciate the warm welcome and look forward to makin a ride.
I mentioned earlier I am a mechanic (and a damn good one if I might say myself) and I have alot of experience with 02-06 coopers and pretty much anything european, domestic, or foriegn so if anybody needs help or advice please feel free to ask.

Welcome V73W!
I hope you can join us on the 17th of July for a drive around the south of Franklin. Should be a good drive and you can see more details in the "July Drive" thread.
I am glad to hear that you are a mechanic. We were discussing in a previous thread if anyone knows a good private mechanic for Minis. I do a lot of work myself, but I suspect I'll need help in the future and would rather that it be a fellow Mini enthusiast.
Glad to have you aboard.

V73W -
My hubby is also a mechanic. . might need to get you two together so you can give him some pointers on passing those damnable ASE tests. I'm his 'study partner' now - a job I do most reluctantly. I would love to see him achieve a master tech status but my assistance is limited to reading the manuals to him and drilling him with the sample test questions. Maybe talking to someone who has 'been there, done that' would give him an edge.

Cool, I am in that Best Buy all the time. A couple of the guys over in computers know me and what I do with MINIs. Have fun with your MINI and if you're ever by the dealership, stop by and say hi.
