Is MTH software stealthy?

Is MTH software detectable by the dealer (ie potentially affecting the warranty)? Is so, I assume I can reload the basic configuration before taking the car to the dealer for service?

Sorry, I didn't ask the question right . Is it stealthy or do I need to reload the basic configuration before taking it to the dealer?

Unless the dealer is offering to reflash your ecu they won't know you have MTH.

If you can get buddy buddy with your service department ... ask if they are mod friendly.

My advisor said," if ya blow the engine, we will replace it!" ;-))

Nice!

Sorry, but that is one SA that won't last long in his job. Last time I checked, dealers were into making money not giving it away.

Always had good luck with SM's

My last car was a heavily modified audi tt. I always made sure the SM at the dealership new my car was coming in for service ... this way no problems.

Turns out that the SM at my mini dealership is cool.

Funny thing is that I bought the jcw car so that I wouldnt have to modify ... still have an itch to experiment a bit though.

I asked this question a long time before...

From what I remember, even if the dealer flashes your ECU, they won't notince anything... They'll simply overwrite the MTH file.

Then, you'd only have to get your new stock file downloaded, and ask MTH to do a new file according to the new ECU version...

The only way for the dealer to know you have MTH in it would be to send the ECU to MINI in UK...

Makes sense?
