MTH for SF Macs

OK. I would like to get a Mth tuner upgrade, but I'm a Mac guy. I can't be the only one stuck in this situation.

How about a Mac group in SF forming to split the cost of a cable + one PC laptopper who could use the cable for free in exchange for letting the use of the PC?

Good idea? Stupid? Eh? :impatient

Just a thought, but could you run it using Virtual PC on the Mac? Anyone?

Interesting idea. No way to verifiy this, but my gut check says probably not. But I did have mexican last night, so I could be off.

Well I live in Hayward, have a cable and a PC laptop. Might be simpler to just find someone like me willing to help out.

FWIW, i have run tuning software designed for PC's on my mac. I did this with the Emanage software.

It is a REAL PITA to get right. esp. with USB to serial port convertors, etc. IT can be done, but if you can hook up with a PC guy, you are better off (and, yes, as a True Believer, it pains me to say that!

I would like some mac support. I own a powerbook, and would love the ability to tune my car via it. Or if not powerbook support, how about support for the palm pilot? That would be just as good.

I have a mac too but I do have some friends that have laptops. That would be my last option though if I cannot find any other ways to do this.

I was thinking about bring my PC down to my garage and my lcd. it wouldn't be too much work to do any..would probably take an extra 10-15minutes. Is there something I am missing that will cause this not to work?

I too have a system that can be borrowed

I live in Woodside, and work in San Jose. I can lend the cable and laptop (has poor battery life, but I have the adaptor) to anyone that needs it.

PM me if interrested.

She's a nurse and sometimes works weekends, then I have to watch our girl (11 months old). I live near Alice's Restaurant on Skyline, and can provide BiM-COM scans of the car as well. Let's aim for a Sat when we can do all the work, and between Alice's for lunch, BiM-COM and MTH, we can have a heck of a Mini Party!

Most saturdays are good....

But I also have some other news..... I upgraded to Mono-USB, so have the Mono-Com cable and laptop for anyone to use. Just send me a PM, and you can borrow it as needed. So, we now have two options....

1) Mini Party for MTH and BiM-COM scans... If we do it right, we can coordinate with MTH so that they turn the files around when taken off the car, and maybe get everyone upgraded within hours of sending in the files. We'll run diagnostic scans of anyone who wants its car. This includes resetting any trouble codes (even airbag!).

2) Just borrow one of my rigs, and do it as you would like, on your own time....

I'm open to both. If you've never driven Skyline, 84 or any of the roads in the hills nearby my house, the twisties alone are worth the trip. If you're lazy like me, and bad at scheduling, then the other way is open as well.

Oh, one more thing. I have a GTech, so for those that want to, you can even do before and after runs to see if you're getting any real power...

Matt
