Lack of power with MTH Tuner...

Well, it seems like there is no power in 1st gear up to 3000rpm, seems like power has diminished slightly. Hmm... I don't feel that burst of acceleration from start to 70mphs. Once I'm in 70mph and around the 3200rpm, the car seems to pick up a little better. Although my MPG's have increased, so the tuner file seems to do it's job.

My question is, is it possible that the tuner file leaned out the car too much? I've only put 200 miles on since the file upload last night and remember pple saying wait around 400-500 miles before changes are noticed. Just curious if anybody had any experiences with this lack of power in the beginning.[/font]

(I did reset my ECU if it helps)

@ Cooperski
You are running on 90 Octane, that does make a difference.

@ all
One can not reset the ECU just through the speedo.

We had a few S´s that did not perform as they should. The reason was a faulty bypass valve and/or very seldom a faulty pressure sensor. The later is difficult to detect cause it is still working but gives wrong figures to the throttle body.

Thanks Volker,

I was thinking you had programmed the ECU to accept 90RON and not 90 US octane level. I should have known better because that is what I asked cooper_si to do. The fuel that I put in was 95RON which is roughly 91 Octane, correct?

I will burn off the 95RON and dump the correct 90 octane and see what happens.

Thanks Volker and cooper_si for your tech. support

faulty bypass valve shown below...

Corrected bypass valve shown below

...as you can see in the first pic...there is daylight surrounding the butterfly..this will cause boost leak and low power !!! where as the last pic (adjusted) allows FULL boost to the engine and more power
