MTH-USA vs. MTH-DE

Good morning, all. I was wondering what the difference is between ordering the software upgrade from MTH-USA versus MTH in das fatherland. Does MTH-USA still rely on Volker (or another person at MTH Global HQ) to build the necessary file, or does tradiuz have his own means to do that? Will the turnaround time be quicker (hurricanes aside) by using MTH-USA?

There's a dyno day coming up next weekend that's got me thinking about trying to do before and after runs with the MTH software, and *maybe* a 15% pulley (depending on cost). I'm pretty sure I'll have to initiate the MTH purchase this weekend so that I'm ready, but I wanted to know a little more, first.

Thanks,
B

clarification

I'd like to clarify that I'm looking to get a "custom" file (but aren't they all?). I want the throttle hold turned as off as it can be, and the DSC torque reduction reduced, to limit how much power is taken away when DSC kicks in (primarily so that I'm not a sitting duck in traffic when I spin the wheels pulling out).

Can the MTH software be further tweaked for a K&N filter? Does it need to be?

Hi,

MTH-USA is a MTH "dealer" so both are MTH products from Franz & Volker...
If you're from USA, why not help a local MINI fanatic.

The "throttle hold" and DSC mod are both "included" in the MTH standard file as well as the Tuner. I think you have to ask for the throttle hold mod but I'm not sure... Maybe it's now included in every MTH files... The RPM redline is also increased to 7200rpm.

MTH can be tuned to match almost every mods, so just tell what mods you have when you order your file, and Franz will match the software according to those.

Can someone confirm that the throttle hold mod is now included in every MTH files?

I was more curious about who does the actual work, and who has the best turn-around time. I always support local when I can!

The bottom line is - what are the differences between using both sources - price, time, product. That's what consumers care about.

I ordered from tradiuz early in the week, and already have the cable, and have been in contact with him 3 times today (even in the hurricane preparation).

I commend tradiuz for the response he has provided me, and would recommend his services to anyone who wanted to pick up the program cable and service, so far.

I will also be posting as soon as I have the files emailed back and let you know how the product works for me.

Price-wise, you save $13 by ordering from MTH-USA (provided there's no taxes thrown in). You also don't have to run to Google to get the prices converted. ;-)

I sell MTH products, including MTH Software (for MINI/BMW/VW/Porsche), MSC Plug & Drive, and Performance Accessories (MINI).

Another difference is that I am on Central Standard Time time.

As far as turnaround time goes, it should be nearly identical between the two of us, and we both have the same product.

I don't expect a very fast response time, at this point...with the hurricane bearing in, but I did just email the files to tradiuz, and I will let you know how quickly they get turned around to me.

Again, the instructions and the process could not have been any easier up to this point.

He even sent me a window sticker that will give me an additional 10-15% increase in perfomance, as well!

All updated and running fine.

Up top this point, I have been averaging just about 24 mpg...in another month or so I will post the new average.

I do think the low end torque is a bit better, and smoother.....just my first impressions. Overall pleased with the response, so far.
