Before and after dyno

What needs to be done to get accurate before and after dyno numbers?

I'm thinking:

1. Load the .org file back into my car
2. Reset ECU
3. Do dyno run
4. Load .mth file into the car
5. Reset ECU
6. Do dyno run

I plan to do this one day soon. Will this give me accurate numbers or does the ECU need time to learn the software after its been loaded?

If you reset before each one, you'll have a decent baseline, and a delta change. It takes the car about 500 miles to adapt to driving style, so you'd probably pick up some more power in there too, like an income tax return.

Its something you know that you'll get back, and when you do its a nice suprise.

Have there been any dynos showing that effect? I haven't seen much if any change from resetting the ECU on the dyno.

I recommend resetting the ECU just because if you want a baseline, thats the only real way you will get one with regards to ECU learning. I've borrowed MINIs that were driven granny style their whole life and I can tell you that they act totally different than MINIs that have been pushed hard all the time.

I have never felt a change between resetting the ECU or not, when switching between my files - the change is immediate regardless.

During the week I drive slower to save gas and I notice that Friday afternoon that the Mini runs funny at first when I'm ready to open it up. Once I almost got run over because the Mini had not changed over. The very next light I was gone. But that was before the new tuner file. It seems like I have power when ever I hit the gas.
