I might even sneak up there once between now and the fall so that koolmini will stop asking me how many times I have been to the Dragon (now that he has been there one more time than I have!)

Somehow, someway, I am going to find someone with a DVD burner and get that damn tape copied for you. If I have to, I will just copy to using my GF's VHS, but I really want to make it a DVD. . . .

and yes, MINIclo, the Dragon is beautiful with the leaves changing colors. Not that you'd notice them from a speeding MINI. . .

How're the leaves and traffic that time of year?

I'd love to. I just hope I can get away from school long enough.

 

Yucca, send the tape to me. Is it a miniDV tape? I can do a direct Firewire transfer from miniDV to DVD. Quality will look exactly like the miniDV tape.

Remember it's not just a DVD burner you need. You need to encode the video into MPEG-2 (DVD Compliant Stream), then author it, and burn it on a DVD-R (not +R, RW, etc..)

I think we could make that weekend if we can settle on it now, and not wait until late September.

it's the prefect time of the year to go
the leaves are still on the trees & nicely colored (not alot have fallen yet)
and the weather is nice & kool
the biggest drawback is that the days are shorter

 

You may be a weak or two early for the color change. Last year the change was late, just depends on the weather. The color change in NY is much earlier.

 

yes, but if you wait too long there will be too many leaves on the road
i found the third week of october to be prefect time to go last year

 

Are these the dates? Planning on coming down. Should be a great time for the leaves, we were there last year right at that time.

But this year we've had sh1tloads of rain, which will make the colors fantastic.

Just stay off the parkway and the traffic won't be too bad. Just looked at the schedule and I'm free those dates, so I might have to meander over that way

 

I'll check and see if I can find an affordable flight back there....I really want to see those beautiful leaves....YEAH, RIGHT!
